If you’re under 18 and anything here is confusing, talk with a trusted adult before using GetSniped. GetSniped is not for anyone under 13. If you’re 13–15, please make sure a parent or guardian approves your use.

This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the controls you have over your data.

1) Information we process about you

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the app/website, and information provided by others.

1.1 Data you provide to us

Account Creation Data — To create an account you’ll provide: phone number, full name, and check a Privacy PolicyTerms, and Community Standards agreement box.

If you are 13–15 in certain regions, we may request a parent/guardian email to verify permission.

Optional Profile Data — You can add a profile photo.

Content Data — When you use GetSniped you can share photos you take in the app or import from your library (“Snipes”). You can use the app without granting camera or library access, but you’ll only see friend content after you post your own snipe; that’s how the experience works.

Location with Content — You can choose to attach location to a Snipe. Adults default to precise location unless you switch to approximate. For teens, approximate location is the default if location is enabled at all.

Reactions & Social — We store guesses, captions,  likes, and friend requests to make social features work.

Chat Data — If you use chat, we process the messages, photos, and videos you send so they can be delivered to your friends.

Support & Communications — If you contact support, we receive your email, the content of your message, any screenshots you share, and identifiers we need to help you (e.g., your phone number or username). In rare cases we may request ID to verify account ownership.

1.2 Data we collect when you use GetSniped or visit our site

Website Analytics — IP address, device/browser type and version, language preference, and basic browsing data.

App Diagnostics & Technical — IP address, account creation date, last login time, app version, device model and OS, system configuration, language, and application events. We also create internal identifiers such as a user ID and device ID.

Analytics — We use Firebase Analytics to understand app performance and usage so we can improve stability and features. You can limit certain analytics in your device settings where available.

Identifiers — Mobile device identifiers such as IDFV (iOS) or Android ID may be collected for fraud prevention, account integrity, and analytics. At launch, we do not run advertising or collect mobile advertising IDs for ads.

Interaction & Usage — Number of friends, invitations sent, which friends you interact with most, retake counts, posting times, views, likes, comments, deletes, blocks, screenshots taken in-app, crash logs, pages visited, and event logs.

Network-based Geolocation — We infer country/region/city from your IP address. Background location is not collected.

Address Book — With your permission only, we read hashed contact info to help you find friends. If you revoke access, we stop collecting and delete previously uploaded contact data within a reasonable time.

Partner Integrations — If you connect a third-party service in the future (e.g., music), we’ll receive the minimum data needed to provide the integration, plus any optional fields you explicitly allow.

1.3 Information about you provided by others

Contacts from friends — If your friends sync their address book, we may receive your phone number or contact info to help suggest connections in both directions.

Invites — If you invite someone via SMS or share a snipe by link, we may send a message on your behalf using your provided phone number. Recipients can opt out of future messages as described in the message.

Attribution — We may receive information about how you discovered our app (for example, from an app store page).
