GetSniped is a candid photo app that captures life as it really happens - unfiltered, unplanned, and unforgettable. It’s not just another photo-sharing platform. It’s a new way to surprise your friends, share spontaneous moments, and guess who caught you slipping.
Every day, users snap candid photos of their friends and tag them, that friend will then get a notification that says "You've been sniped". The twist? The person in the photo has to guess who sniped them before anything is revealed to their friends. If they guess wrong... it stays a mystery (sniper stays hidden).
How it Started
The idea for GetSniped was born the way most great ideas are - between friends, goofing off.
Me and my close group of friends at the University of Utah had a tradition. We’d constantly take ridiculous, funny, or totally unexpected photos of each other - mid-bite, off guard, passed out after a long night - and then send them in the group chat. Those “snipes” became our inside jokes. We'd scroll back weeks or months later and still laugh about them like they just happened.

We realized those moments were way more real, more fun, and more memorable than anything posed or polished on social media. So we thought - why not build something around that idea?
That’s how GetSniped was born: an app that makes those hilarious, real-life moments the whole point. Now, it’s not just our friend group laughing at snipes - it’s a global game of candid fun.
